Yahooooo!

Hope I haven't violated any copyright laws, by using the word "Yahooooo." My initial intent in creating this site was to meet the requirements of my EDU 651 course. However, after watching lots of tutorials and pouring over Chapter 3 of Will Richardson's Blogs, Wikis, Podcats and other Powerful Web Tools for Classrooms, I have developed a site that I might actually use. I really like the concept of having an online (and ongoing) file cabinet that doesn't require paper, or a large metal set of drawers in my room. My previous conception of blogs was one of blah blah blah and chat about nothing. I am realizing (resistant as I am) that I might have just discovered a really useful tool for myself, in and out of the classroom.

  1. This week in EDU 651 we're discussing Facebook privacy issues. How much privacy should users expect when posting on the World Wide Web? Will social networks ever be "safe" to share personal information? Should they be? What features make Facebook potentially dangerous?

I see the potential use for Facebook as more than a social tool. For professionals we have such networks as "LinkedIn." What new applications could be added to Facebook to make it a stronger application for Business or Education? Send your ideas. I'd love to hear them...so would the rest of the world:)
